Recording my screen in "Full Screen" mode

Nov 01, 2019

I'm recording my screen in "Full Screen" mode, but when i go to play it back and work on my edits, i am only seeing a part of the screen.  Will the full screen be displayed when I export the video for a Rise 360 course?  I certainly hope so!!!  If not, I need to know how to record my screen so all of it will display.  Thank you!

I just happened to bump into an article about screen resolution. It's tough learning all this stuff on the fly as I do it. You don't know what you don't know ..so you can't go looking for what you don't know is even a problem.

I can see that for most of my project, the screen size is fine even though I never changed my resolution. Friday I changed resolution to 1280 x 720, but today it reads 1440 x 900 (I didn't change it to that), and some of my screen casting looks ok, but the two sections I did on Friday are cut off (that was when I had screen resolution at 1920 x 1080). So...I have to re-record those two small chunks, but hopefully the remainder is ok.

This is where the full screen appears even though I didn't change my resolution. This was recorded on a laptop prior to last Friday.

This is full screen screen cast I did on Friday, recorded on a laptop and resolution was at 1920 x 1080. Only upper left quadrant of the screen is displayed.

I hope you are able to see the images. I guess I'll have to save this file under a different name and export it to see what it actually looks like.....unless there is an easier way to do that.

Thanks!
Kim

Hey there, Kim. Happy to help!

It looks like your email signature came through instead of the images. This Peek 360 video will show you how to edit it out if you'd like!

Could you click this link to open our conversation and use the Add Attachment button to include the images in your reply? Also, it sounds like you found this helpful guide on recording high-resolution screencasts! Can I confirm if your Story Size is set to the screen resolution you've chosen?

We'll take a closer look at what you're seeing, and explore our next steps from there!
