3% of my learners are not able to pass the test

Jun 24, 2014

Hi Storyline community

I have produced an e-learning in Storyline, but about 3% of my learners are not able to pass it.

I have used the setting "Track using number of slides viewed" and it is required that the user views all 30 pages to pass the e-learning. The navigation is completely linear and I have used the setting "Restricted", so they can only navigate forward one page at the time.

Most of the learners have no problem passing the test. But a few of them only has status "Started" in the status report - even though they can show me a screenshot of the last slide in the e-learning.

I have asked the users about their browser and they are all using Internet Explorer.

Have anyone heard about this issue before? What else can possibly be causing this?

Thanks in advance!!

Kind regards

Hi Mette and welcome to Heroes!

For the group of users who haven't been able to receive a completion status, are they the only ones using Internet Explorer? Do you know what version of Internet Explorere they're using and which Flash version? Also, have you checked into how they closed the course - perhaps, you have an exit course trigger or the user is supposed to just close the browser?

You may also want to review this article on troubleshooting common LMS issues with tracking and reporting, specifically I'd look at testing the course at SCORM Cloud and sending that link to the users who have had difficulty. If the courses track as expected there and the users still accessed it through IE you may need to check with your LMS team to see if they support that version of IE.
