I'd love to do more with 3D in SL, just can't seem to find the time. A while back I had done a test, see here which uses states of an object, rather than JavaScript.

Very cool Garry! Beyond the web player, do you see any other advantages for using Unity3D, rather than some other 3D software? I had played around with 3D StudioMax and Blender.
Very nice guys. I use Sketchup and this thread is really interesting. Michael - Sure would like to see that test file of yours that you posted using states....

Hi Michael,
I built it SL (Web Object) , Unity 3D and finally in HTML5
I use 3DS MAX mainly for assets production, just playing with Unity, the HTML works best.
SL is quite heavy file wise in HTLM5, Unity requires a player....so straight HTML5 is lean and does not require a player - just IE9 above. Still working on the project

Thanks a lot for the info Garry. I'll have a closer look at Unity. Good luck with your project!
Hi guys, I'm currently building a virtual environment with triggers made with Unity 3d to run inside storyline.
We created an ni between version utilising rendered 3d video inside Storyline instead of the unity engine, I also used the slider with pre-rendered images on points for the user to look around in '3d'. This version is now the prototype for the unity 3d version. Now we 3dxchange the models from Blender and Iclone to Unity-3d and recreate the scenes to be dynamic.
The first tests from Blender to Unity-3d are very promising, although I haven't done many with Unity inside storyline, a little concern is that Chrome no longer supports the standard output of Unity, but they are working on it.
From what I have read the triggers inside unity3d can be communicated to storyline via xml. from this post here unity 3d xml to storyline
We may find that it works better to launch unity in a separate window, full screen. We'll keep you posted

Cool thread, thanks for sharing everyone.
Paul, I'm sure that Michael is probably subscribed, but you can send him a PM if need be to ask about that file.

Sounds interesting Byron - you can also look at https://sketchfab.com/
if you do not require a full blown games approach - nice shaders. - Garry
