Is there a way for me to see the number of words there on each slide (like in Word)? I'm tasked with a non-narrated version of a couple of courses and one of the compliance restrictions is that I time the slides so the Next button doesn't function until X amount of time has gone by. I know I can copy and paste to Word but thought I would see if there is something I don't know.
I'm having a similar issue. However, exporting to Word puts the slides as a picture so Word won't count the words on the slide. It only counts headers and what's in the notes. Did I do something wrong or missing something? I need a word count of actual text on the slide itself. (in headers, word bubbles, text boxes, etc).

You didn't do anything wrong. You are right about the screen text. While in development I usually us the notes section to record the on screen text.
I know this is an old post, however.... it's still an outstanding issue.
I have raised a suggestion for Microsoft to incorporate this as a feature add to PowerPoint for Word Count per slide, please see link below and vote for the idea to hopefully get it integrated!
Not only is it an outstanding issue, referring people to Microsoft isn't a viable solution. I work for a Google-only organization and we don't have Microsoft products on our computers. Storyline 360 won't even export to a .doc unless you have it installed. I need to do a word count in order to get a quote for translation services, so I'm pretty unimpressed that the feature request for word count has been around for 4 years and nothing has been done about it.

Hi Beth - you can export Storyline content to Word - it is one of the publish options. Once you publish, Word will give you the word count.
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the idea and that's what I was thinking, just trying to do shortcuts.
