You can achieve this effect without a button by setting a trigger to say jump to a url when the timeline reaches whatever time you set, then set another trigger to exit the course when the timeline reaches and set time for a little past the open url time. If you need other things to happen on the slide before this then you add a variable to check if certain things are true and then add a condition to both triggers to check the variable before they kick in.
Both of the options above would work for your question. I would just like to mention that if you are planning to publish this course in HTML5 for iPad use in Mobile Safari, the "exit course" trigger will not work in the new iOS8.

You could try a JumpToURL trigger that opens the new URL in the same browser window as the course.
