Attached story file consists of a screen (the actual course consists of over 50 slides) having an oval shape with trigger to open a layer. When using NVDA, it doesn't read the alt text for oval rather it just reads "button".
Good news! I found out why the alt text wasn't being read on your button! The normal state for Oval 1 has the "Object is visible to accessibility tools" box deselected. Every state can have its own alt text and choice of whether it's visible to accessibility tools. Here is a peek video showing how to change that setting!
I appreciate the solution, but the Next button does not function when it is deactivated; instead, it reads out graphic.next then next button is read after that.
Thye problem is in the previous button rather than the next the alt text is next rather than previous and the graphic inside the state is still active to accessibility tools will be read out.
