Accessible Drag and Drop

Feb 03, 2014

Hi everyone,

I need to make sure my Storyline drag and drop activities are accessible with a keyboard. Are there any tutorials on how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there Kris,

I'm afraid not. If you take a look at our 508 article, you'll see the following statement:

Here's the entire article on 508 support, if you'd like more information:

Storyline and Section 508

As an alternative, you could try using a trigger with a button or a hotspot - but it would depend on the question type you're using.

Here's an example of a trigger set to submit an interaction using a key "3".

Hi Christine,

I should have read, re-read and re-read my post. :/

I was hoping to see if anyone has found a way around this restriction to make the activity accessible. I can probably make an alt page using combo boxes but I'd love to hear if there were any other more creative solutions.

If I do an alternative page, I'll probably have more questions. I'm not sure how to "tell" learners using JAWS how to get to the page. The activity has learners dropping words in boxes to make complete sentences.

Thanks for getting back to me!
