activityType missing from interaction object

We have several fields on our course that are fill-in and choice interactionTypes. Publishing the course as xAPI, we are able to see the answered verb statement, however it is missing the interactionType which is required by SCORM Cloud to be passed into their Reportage. Below is an example object property that is currently being sent. How can we change the behavior so the interactionType property is included in the xAPI call?
