Lock Aspect Ratio Does Not Stay Checked

Jan 07, 2016

I am attempting to remove the Locked Aspect Ratio tick to publish a resizable course, but the tick box keeps on returning to a checked state whenever I click OK in the Change Story Size dialog box.  As a result, I cannot seem to publish a resizable/scalable course.

Is there something I am missing or a place in an object property I'm missing? Is there a place in a file where that can be adjusted?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Ashley.

I am using Storyline 2 Update 7:1509.1408

I am working on a local development file and have not seen any behaviors that are out of the ordinary. I will use the link you provided and go through the repair steps and let you know if it continues to misbehave.

Thanks for responding and providing options.

I uninstalled Storyline 2 and downloaded the latest version and installed it. The project I'd been working on continues to exhibit the same behavior which led me to try a different project in case it was related to that particular file, but the behavior is the same.

Uncheck the Aspect Ratio, click on OK, open the Story Size back up and it is checked.

Thanks for any additional assistance.

Thanks Thomas - I'll admit I hadn't played with this much, but I took a look and saw the same thing and after reviewing the tutorial and a previously submitted report to our QA it seems this is working as designed. The check box is set up to be used as described:

Mark the Lock aspect ratio box if you want to maintain the current proportions for objects that have locked aspect ratios.

So the box won't stay unchecked, as when you're going to the story size section again, it's the default for any changes you'd be making to the story size and if you uncheck it, then the items will adjust accordingly when changing the story size. If you're not seeing that happen - we'll want to take a look at that, and likely a video screencast showing it occur is the best way to see it in action.

Hope that helps clarify - and I learned something new too. :)
