Add an animation to an object thats initially hidden and controlled by a variable.

Hello, 

I have a graphic that's set to "hidden" and changes to "normal" when the timeline starts if its associated variable is changed. It's working well, but I want it to fade in, since all the content on the page fades. Currently, it's not fading, even though the object has a fade animation on it.  It simply appears when the timeline starts.

What is the Storyline secret to achieving this?
