Add Icon "Checked" in menu (list of pages) once page is completed, how?

Apr 09, 2020

Hi everybody,

We got a customer request to add a "checked" icon in front of the page-name in the menu, once the user completed the page. He has this in all his other WBTs and wants to be consistent.

The menu (list of all pages of the WBT) is normally unvisible. It gets visible once you click on the three horizontal bars (standard menu icon).

How can we accomplish this with Articulate?

I would like to avoid a situation, where we have to say that their software has capabilities, which Articulate doesn't have.

I read the thread https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/adding-functionality-to-menu, which is addressing the same issue.
I hope something has changed in the last 5 years.

The solution in the other threads, includes a trigger ("event-listener") which changes the color from A to B. Could we redirect the event-listener to change the visible state of the icon, instead of changing the color? At the end of the day, both are CSS-values. Where would we have to do this?

Any insights are welcome!

Thanks

Christian

Hi Phil,

thanks for your response. I understand that this is not part of the standard functionality of Storyline. Articulate most definietly uses javascript & css for implementing the standard functionality of changing the color of a visited page (standard function in storyline) in the menu.

Would you recommend to change the javascript file in the produced scorm-files (probably only 1-2 lines, if you know where) or go the route of a custom menu?

Thanks

Christian
