Adding a condition to a button

May 07, 2019

I am very new to Storyline and trying to create a new project, that is probably a bit advanced for my skill level!  I have a slide with several buttons for trainees to select and read further information. I want to add a condition to my Next button, so that it won't show until all the options have been selected by the trainee? Can someone tell me where to find what the terms such as Operator, Type and Value control and what their options mean please? Many thanks.

Hi Yvonne! Welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 💙

Check out this quick example I made. Here's what I did:

  • Trigger to change the state of the Next button to Hidden when the timeline of the slide starts with the condition that my buttons weren't in the Visited state. This is a great way to ensure that learners won't have to redo everything if they revisit the slide.
  • Trigger to change the state of the Next button to Normal when the state of all of my buttons is Visited.

Attached is my project file. Does that help?
