I am having a problem adding a quiz to my Storyline project. When I import the quiz slides, I can no longer preview or publish my project. Do I need to publish the quiz or can I import the slides directly into Storyline? If I try to publish the quiz it will only give me the option to insert into a PPT project and not presenter.

Here's how to import Articulate Quizmaker quizzes into Articulate Storyline.
You would want to do this from Storyline, not Quizmaker. I think that's the confusion you mention with publishing to Presenter.
If you follow the directions above, are you then able to preview/publish?
