Adding a Storyline project to my website

Aug 11, 2016

I have a portfolio on my website and have a couple of Storyline projects I would like to add, but I cannot figure out how to do this. My website is www.kristinkoeleman.com  - the last two images on My Portfolio page (Networking 101 and XLIF) are both SL projects. I do not know which SL files to upload to my file manager so that I can link the projects to these images - I want the user to click on the image and have the project open in another window. I have googled this but it just is not working for me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Hi Kristin!  I wanted to share this article with you about uploading your published content to a website.  The link within that article goes further in-depth about uploading your output to a server.  So, you'll want to be sure you have the entire published output on your server, and then use those launch files (story.html) as the link.

Also, if you reply via email, your attachments won't come through.  You can "Add Attachment" right here in your reply!

Hi there. I use ipage and weebly to host my website and I did the FTP
transfer once I published the storyline file. But now I have two more
questions - I have images of my courses on my portfoli page of my website.
I want users to click on the image of the course and have the course play.
I can link a file to the image, but which file do I link?
Also, I have two SL files I did the FTP transfer on, but I think the 2nd
one overrode the first one...???

Thanks in advance...

Hi Kristin...happy Monday.  ;)

Without knowing the exact setup of your web page, I would say that you should be able to link the story.html file from the output, as that is the file that will launch the course.

As far as the overwriting issue, I wouldn't expect that to happen unless they have the exact same name.  On my site directory, I like to compare it to File Explorer... you'll have folders on your site with files inside, each with a unique name.  If it has a different name, I wouldn't expect it to be overwritten by a different file.  I don't have experience with iPage or Weebly.  Do they have a good support reputation?
