Allow user to choose not applicable for quiz question and not count in score

Jan 14, 2020

Hi,

I am building a competency assessment using the freeform multiple choice quiz function. Users will rate their skill with a series of statements and then be assigned points based on their choices for each to get a total score at the end. I also have a "not applicable" option for each question. How can I set this up so that if a user selects not applicable, they are not penalized? Thinking I would need the the score calculation on the results slide to somehow skip that question when calculating total points based on the non-applicable choice.  Is this possible through variables or some other method?

Thank you for any ideas!

Hi Samantha!

It would be easiest to see the file to offer specific advice, but I'll start with a few recommendations!

First, I'd recommend adding a trigger that adds value to a variable. It would look something like this.

Secondly, you could also add a trigger based on the radio button. That would look like this.

Let me know if you have any questions!
