Alternative ways to pass a Story

Mar 14, 2017

Hi Staff, heroes and developers out there,

Is there a way to create alternative ways to pass a Story?

In the middle of my eLearning Story the learners are asked to make a choice which leads them to one of two branches with different content. The branches converge in the end of the Story and end up in the same Result Slide. But I want the learners to pass the eLearning regardless of which way they choose. Branch 1 contains quizzes that I have made mandatory to do in order to pass the Story. Branch 2 doesn't contain quizzes but I want these learners to pass the Story anyway.

Thankful for help!

Hi Ashley,

Thank you!

Maybe this is the best way to go. But as I understand, this wont let me check if the learners who selected branch 1 passed their quiz questions? Can i combine two branches in the same result slide?

I guess ideal for me had been if there is a function that let me set an OR condition at the result slide, that enables the learners to pass the eLearning either if they pass quiz questions in branch 1 OR click a mandatory button in branch 2 (as described in your example in comment above).

Do I have to create different eLearnings for learners with slightly different learning objectives, that I would like to check, even if the major part of the eLearning is the same for both my types of learners. Or how can I combine them in the same eLearning, but still check if they pass their respective subareas?

Best regards,

Klara

Hi Klara,

Correct - it won't show the quiz results. But you could "lock" them into the results page of the quiz until they pass for example. So that way they'd be forced to reattempt the quiz until they receive a passing score and then continue on to the completion part. It's not a perfect scenario, but it gets closer to what you're asking for.

Perhaps others in the community are able to weigh in on what they've created in terms of different learning courses or a combined learning course.
