An unwanted character appears in preview mode

I am new to Storyline and am in the process of building my first course. On a screen that has several layers and triggers, the base layer and everything looks correct, but when I preview it, at the end of all the layers, a squished small version of the character I am using in larger form appears in the middle of the screen. I have looked through everything I know to look through and can't figure out how to delete it. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Or how I managed to do it? It took forever to build that slide and I don't want to delete it and start over. Thanks for your help! (I attached a screen shot to show the problem.)

Hi Sharon,
My only other thought without seeing the file, is to double check that the character is not hiding on a slide master or in an object state that you can't see initially on the slide timeline while editing.
If you're still stuck, with your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to look for some other culprits and causes of this ghost character. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here.
I’ll delete it when I’m done troubleshooting.
