Animation on click like PPT

Apr 08, 2021

Most of my Storyline360 courses are PowerPoint conversions from content experts.  They often come to me with animation that they want to work as it does in Powerpoint.  They want users to be able to click the slide and have successions of animation come in each time the user clicks.

Is there an option for this in Storyline that isn't super complicated?

In my ideal world, the user would be able to click the slide, and each animation would play after each click until all of the animations on the slide were done.  After the last one, when user clicks the slide again, the slide would advance to the next slide--just like it does in a PowerPoint presentation.

The way Jacqueline describes it, it could be done pretty simply if you don’t need the learner to interact with any specific thing on the slide.

Set the objects (with their animation) to show on the timeline at the appropriate moments. Create a trigger to pause the timeline just before the first object appears. Cover the whole page with a filled shape with a high (96 - 99%) transparency. Create a Trigger that pauses the timeline when the shape is clicked, and another one for each animation that pauses the timeline when the animation completes.

If you want the learner to click on a specific object and interact with it, you have to place it above the shape.

About the same number of steps as creating it in Ppt.
