Where you see the animation options, they are not for animations as such. They refer to the method of having any object appear on the screen. If you have an object that should just appear, place it on the timeline at the time you want it to appear. The left edge of its block is the time it will appear. Another option is to set its initial state to hidden, and use a trigger to change the state to normal. That trigger can be set to happen when the user performs an action, such as clicking, or when the timeline reaches a certain time. (Personally, I find that the same thing as just sliding the left edge of the object to the correct spot on the timeline, except a lot harder and more complex.)

At any rate, don't apply an animation to it, or choose none as an animation.
