Answer not exported for translation for one fill-in question?

Jun 26, 2013

Hello Friends,

I ran into a wierd situation where I found one answer (a single word "software") to a fill-in question did not get exported in doc and so my transaltor did not translate it into Chinese (from English).

Do you guys see if any suggestions or solution for my future projects to avoid same issue happen?

See attached screenshot for details.

Thanks,

Anson

Hi Anson!

Not sure why this would happen, honestly. I just created a question set up the same as your question in the screenshot (minus the Chinese) and the answer "Software" exports into the DOC file successfully for me.

Please make sure you're exporting to a local document and from a local project file:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

While I understand that you may need to provide this project in Chinese, it might be a good idea to make sure the file name itself doesn't contain any special characters.

If you still have trouble with this, are you able to share the original .STORY file? I'd be happy to take a look and see what might be keeping that answer from exporting.

Thanks!
