Answers not shuffling correctly?

Feb 17, 2015

Can anyone tell me why a course might shuffle answers so that nearly every correct answer is option "A?"  Is there any way that I can adjust this?  It just seems odd that on this particular course, both course testers reported the same issue.

Hi Ashley-

I've been trying to upload to articulate but seem to be having connectivity issues after an ice storm.  So, here's a dropbox link since I can send that quickly: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yqnhg12dt76uazk/AACsiDaS2n7QO-FR21ozmvJ5a?dl=0

Also, this is the pattern I'm seeing as I test the course.  It works great to question 27, then all the answers become "A" except for the last one.

Strange!  I've looked to make sure every question is set as shuffle/answers.

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for sharing here. I went through the entire quiz to see if when hitting the 27th question if everything would shift to all being A or the first choice (since they're not labelled A, B, C, etc.) The only scenes where A was the answer for both questions were those titled: Five little monkeys, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Clap Hands, and Take me out to the ballgame.

When going back to look at those individual scenes, and previewing them alone (cause it's a long course) they are reshuffled each time, and the answer isn't always A.

Are you seeing this just while previewing or within the published output? I'd also want to confirm that you're working locally on these project files and then testing the published output within the intended environment as described here.

Hi Rachel,

I just tested this one again that I published, and my first 6 choices were not all A - with only three possible choices (some slides with two) it wouldn't be unheard of to have multiple slides in a row show the answer choice in the same position based on a random shuffle - but when you were seeing it as more than half as before after question 27 that seemed more unusual.

If you're able to manually adjust that may be the best option to confirm that users won't see the correct answer in the same position with multiple questions in a row.
