Articulate/LMS issues

Apr 08, 2020

Hi everyone.

I have a mandatory eLearning package that everyone at my establishment has to complete once a year but we are experiencing difficulties with completion statuses in our LMS.

There are instances where the user completes the module and is informed that they have passed at the end of the module but LMS doesn't recognise the completed status/score with the status remaining In Progress/Incomplete and therefore the workflow doesn't trigger the email to confirm they have passed and link to the certificate.

For the same delegate, the LMS doesn't recognise the questionnaire questions/answers or the time the delegate took over the course leaving the Overview (results) page data blank.

Is there a possible Articulate solution for this or does the issue lie with our LMS tool?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, David!

So sorry you're facing these completion issues. Let's tackle this together!

1. What reporting option did you pick? We recommend Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed, as these options are most likely to record both completion and success statuses in an LMS. Check out this related learning

2. Are you tracking the course by the number of slides viewed, a course completion trigger, or a single quiz (result slide)?

Let me know, and we'll explore our next steps from there!

Thanks for the additional information, David.

Can we go back a step and verify the software that you are using to create this project?

You mentioned 'percentage of slides viewed' and that sounds like you may using Rise 360.

Are you using Rise 360 or Storyline 360 for this project?

In any case, were you able to take a look at testing in SCORM Cloud as the link Katie shared above indicated? This is the best way to determine if an issue lies within the LMS or the project.

Hi Leslie.

Sorry, poor language on my part, we are tracking on number of slides viewed, not percentage of slides viewed. We are using Articulate Storyline 3.

I can't test in Scorm cloud as I don't have the source file. My colleague was working on it and has since left for maternity leave. I'm picking up the pieces in her absence. I'll see if I can get hold of it and test.
