Articulate not setting "fail" status in LMS

Hello everyone. We are having an issue with Articulate  (SCORM 1.2) and Moodle 1.9:

1)We set the SCORm to 1.2 and report tracking to passed/incomplete. Problem is that when users achieve the passing score, the status is passed correcty . But, if the user fails to achieve passing score, then the status is passed as "incomplete".

2) So, we changed the tracking to passed/fail. We are still having the same issue. When the user achieves the passing score, the status "pased" is set correctly. But, if the user fails, then the status is still set as "incomplete" instea of "failed." 

Suggestions? Fixes?

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

If those resources don't help, would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

NO. I  am quite disappointed with Articulate regarding this issue. The support person and I kept going around and around the issue. The impression I got is that it is supposed to be this way. I don't believe it should. I would be happy to see if any other Articulate staff can give a better insight into this issue since now we are two people experiencing the same thing.

Can you tell us a little more about your course? Also, have you tried testing the course in SCORM Cloud using the links I mentioned in my earlier response? If so, did the same thing happen? 


Sorry to hear that you're still working with this. Can you share the case number with me for this issue? I wasn't aware one was submitted for this and I don't see any recent cases.
