Articulate Sign In
Jul 17, 2020
Hi all,
Not quite sure which forum this should go in so I hope I've got the right one.
This is a minor thing, but I think it's worth asking: Is it possible to not have Articulate require me to sign in when I've already opened and proceed to work on a project in Storyline 360?
Requiring a sign in to Articulate 360 when you launch an app, such as Storyline 360, after a period of time is okay to continually check verification of users and licences.
However, requiring a sign in when you've already launched an app and in the middle of working through a project is highly inconvenient, not to mention jarring.

Hi Samuel,
Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you are experiencing with your software.
Contacting us here is fine, but in this specific case, I want one of our support engineers to take a look. I've opened a support case on your behalf since you've shared many of the details needed and you should be hearing from someone soon via e-mail.
I'm having the same issue. It keeps asking me to log in, every time, several times a day, event though I keep checking the box "Remember me." I hope you all can find a solution to this soon, as many people keep asking about - there are so many threads about this!
Hi Zuzana!
I'm so sorry you're running into this issue! We're here to help. I'd like to work with you directly in a support case so that we can find the fix. Would you mind reaching out to me using this link?
Hi. This is really annoying. I checked the Remember Me box and it keeps asking me to sign in. When will there be a resolution for this?
Hi, Daniel.
Thank you for opening a support case!
I see you worked with Luiza, who suggested reaching out to your IT department to ask them to open port 443 and add the domains in this article to your organization's allowlist.
Please reach out through the case if you have additional questions!
Thanks Maria. I don't have an IT department. I'm an individual user.
Asking someone to try to figure out how to open port 443 to add domains is a large ask which requires advanced technical experience. How do you expect individual users to do this?
In all my 21 years of eLearning development experience I've never heard of such a thing. You should make your software easy to use for the end-user and not require this.
Hi Daniel,
If you feel uncomfortable delving into the firewall settings and messing with ports then I'd steer clear.
Having said that, I found this guide at clickssl.net/blog/port-443 that might help if you need to enable Port 443. You will need to go through Windows Defender and the built in firewall to do so unless you have an after-market firewall from your preferred antivirus provider (e.g. avast or bit defender).
As I understand it, when enabling the port, as you're setting up a rule via the firewall, you'll need to use the domains in the list linked by Maria above in the list of connections that use port 443.
I do agree the software should be created in such a fashion that the sign-in requirements need to be adjusted to be more user friendly and streamlined as right now it feels that they've been changed more for Articulate's benefit than the user base.
To contrast, Adobe CC hasn't required me to sign than when I first did so about 3 yrs ago unless I logged in via a different computer.
Kind regards,
Sam
Thanks Sam. I agree that this shouldn't fall on the end user. I have a B.Sc. in Information Technology, and for the cybersecurity component they tell you to never have unnecessary open ports as this could cause a potential breach of your system. I will pass on this...
Hi Daniel,
Sounds fair. I honestly thought the ports were in use by default from a number of applications including the web browser whenever possible regardless, but no worries.
Here's hoping Articulate will change the sing-in requirements to something more user-friendly.
Kind regards,
Sam
