Articulate Skip Button/ 508 Compliance

Oct 31, 2017

Hi All,

I am working to get an articulate storyline course 508 compliant. We are having an issue with the skip option at the bottom of the navigation. The 508 team is saying that the button needs to be visible and also at the beginning of the page navigation, not the end. Do you know if there are any workarounds to make the button visible while tabbing through the course, and change the location to the beginning of navigation?

Thanks,

Ellen

Hi there, Ellen.  To clarify, are you referring to the option for screen readers to skip the navigation elements when tabbing through?

If so, it sounds like you're looking for a visual indicator to go along with this feature:

When you press the Tab key after the last object on the slide, the screen reader will instruct you to press the spacebar or Enter key if you want to skip player navigation.

Let me know if that's right, and we'll figure out some next steps.
