Articulate Storyline 2 issues with video player

Jul 31, 2015

Hello,
we are using Articulate Storyline 2 to create SCOes.
We use these SCOes in a custom LMS developed by our organization.
SCOes are published as "Standard 2004, 4th version".

We have some issues:
1. we create slides with mp4 video and keywords, synchronized with seekbar: if we pause the video while it is loading in the browser, and then play it again once it is completely downloaded, it restarts from the beginning, while keywords doesn't. We loose the synchronization. Why does the video restart from the beginning, instead of continuing where it was paused?
2. we want to use the HTML version SCO for tablets, but we want to block video controls for seek (keeping pause/play). In the Flash version, we added a trasparent layer to block the seek. How can we do the same in the HTML version? Is it possible?
3. In the finish slide of a course we set triggers to "Exit of course" and "Submit result". Our LMS generates a certificate for attendees but, after this operation, the SCO sometimes launches the following errors with Google Chrome: "SCO In SetErrorInfo - Num=7 Desc=function SetScore: Cannot make calls to the LMS before calling Start" or "SCO In SetCommitData - Num=7 Desc=function SetScore: Cannot make calls to the LMS before calling Start". Why does it happen? What can we do to fix it?

Have you ever received questions or feedbacks about issues like ours?

Thank you and Best regards,

Hi Anna!

If you are adding a video to your course as explained here, it should be in sync with your slide timeline.

In your player features, you can choose if the seekbar allows users to scrub back and forth.

I'm not sure about the last report you are making. Are you seeing the same result if you test your content in SCORM Cloud? This helps us identify if it is an issue with your course or within your LMS.

If you are able to replicate, we would want to take a look.

Hi Leslie,

thanks for you reply.

We would like to disable the seek of the entire SCO and the seek of a single video.
We read the guide and we are able to disable the seek for the entire SCO, but not for a single video.
In the Flash version, we added a trasparent layer to block the seek in the video player for a single video, and we would like to do the same in the HTML5 version.
In the guide we haven't found the information for the HTML5 video player.
