I am new to articultate storyline and currently working on my first project.
I have a rather newbie question. I have added in a recording of an application running on my desktop but when I preview this the view is scaled down and its very diffucult to see what is going.
I wanted to know if it will be the same when it gets published?
The preview is only contained within the Storyline interface, so if you've set a larger than average story size, things may look smaller than they would while viewing it during publish. How does it look within the slide view itself - normal? How have you added the recording, through Storyline's screen recording feature?
Once you're ready to publish, you'll also want to test within the intended publish environment as testing it locally could cause you to encounter difficulties as described here.
Thank you for your reply. On the slides, it looks the same as previewing , very small. I used the screen recording feature within storyline to capture.
i have just published it and still looks the same but that might be because it was saved locally?. If i put it on a network drive will i still encounter problems?
I've just realised the problem might be due to the screen size of the player. If there was someway to make it the same size as the browser then this might resolve the issue? is this possible?
I exported the screen recording and saved it to my local drive then opened it with Windows Media Player and it worked a treat.
Did you set your recording size to the same size as your story size? Depending again on the size you used, elements may appear smaller than expected. You may want to begin by reviewing the information here about story size and here about setting the screen recording size.
I just have one other question. I can't seem to get my right clicks working. I have attached a screen shot of my trigger settings, could you tell me what i'm doing wrong?
Are you using Update 5 of Storyline 2? You may find that right-click triggers aren't currently working in Flash output.
We're investigating this issue and will post additional information here as it becomes available. I'll also include this thread in the report filed with our QA team so that we can provide an update for you here as well.
In the meantime, we recommend viewing the HTML5 version of your course if right-click triggers are required. You can force the HTML5 output to launch by default by linking directly to the story_html5.html file in your published output (rather than the story.html file).

Hi Shah,
First, I'd always recommend working on local project files and once you've published, than testing within the final publish environment.

As for the player/browser size, there is a way to change how that'll display. Please review the information here on adjusting the browser settings and player size.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you so much for your help. I am now making good progress.
Best wishes.
Shah
Awesome Shah, thanks for the update.

Hi Ashley,
Yes its the update 5 version. I will try your solution with the HTML5 version.
thanks
Shah
Sounds good Shah, and just keep in mind that you'll want to use a browser that supports HTML5 as described here.
Hi all,
You may find that right-click triggers aren't working on the base slide layers in your Articulate Storyline 2 Flash output.
This issue was fixed in Update 7 for Storyline 2. Install the latest version of Storyline 2 to take advantage of the new features and fixes, then republish your course.
