Articulate Storyline Zoom Regions
Sep 10, 2018
Hi everyone, I usually create "How-to videos" or screencasts with Camtasia, which seems tailor made for that. I am trying to do the same within Articulate Storyline and I am having some issues with the Zoom Region feature. First, is there a way to create "custom" zoom regions, i.e. - make them any size you want instead of being limited by the predetermined scale? Also, when I try to increase the length of the zoom region on the timeline, or place it exactly where I want it - Articulate doesn't always show me exactly where I am on the screen - it might be a few screens behind, I have to "guess" where I want it and keep tweaking it until I get it right. Am I missing something here? Is there a better way to do this?

Hi Jennifer, you've asked some great questions!
The zoom region area will have the same aspect ratio as your slide. This ensures that the zoom region will fill the full slide area when it is zoomed in.
Can you tell me more about what you're trying to do when increasing the length of the zoom region on the timeline? Are you trying to increase the amount of time that the area is zoomed in?
Hi Alyssa,
I was wondering about the same thing. Create a custom zoom. I understand about keeping the ratio size. but it would be nice to zoom in on a page and not a section of it. be nice to zoom in and then animate.
Hi Carrie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you would like to create with your project.
My colleague, Mike, shared a guide to creating a custom zoom that you can check out here.
