I have the following problem. I made an interactive quiz in Storyline 1. The output works just fine on my pc and several other pc's. But on "some" pc's the quiz only starts after trying several times or refreshing the browser. The movie seems to start but keeps showing the "loading circle".
This problem is the same in IE or Chrome. I installed the same browser and flash versions on all the pc's, but still some pc's seem to have diffuculties starting the quiz from the first attempt. I am out of inspiration here. We have to roll this out for 1000+ people, but like this it is impossible to use.
Hi there. By "AS1" I presume you mean Action Script 1? Storyline is designed for AS3, so there may rest your problem. More info on video requirements is here.
And I really mean users :-) Not pc's. We are a hospital, so employees with their own pc are rather an exception. So that was in fact one of the first things I checked wether it was user related.
I checked the System Requirements, that should not be the problem.
Important to know: we have this issue on some pc's, but always on the same pc's. For example on my pc it works just fine, but on another pc it only works after refreshing several times.
Been there before David! Healthcare IT/Training for 14 years! How are the users publishing and accessing this content? Sounds like they may be sharing computers, so perhaps there is an issue with subsequent attempts/caching?
Hi David! It sounds like a cache issue to me then for sure.
You could instruct the users to close out of the web browser when they've finished and set the browser to clear cache when it's closed. Then have the next user launch a new instance of the browser to start the course.
Ok, we did some further tests. Seems the problem occurs only in IE10. Chrome works just fine, also IE11 works fine. The problem is....almost evereybody uses IE10 :-)
And we can't just release another brower just like that. Any known IE10 issues?

Hope this helps.
Hello Steve,
I mean Articulate Storyline 1. :-) Sorry for the confusion. Thx anyway.
Hi David!
How are you publishing the content? Do the users have anything in common? Are you able to reproduce this issue?
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for the reply.
It is a web export. The users have nothing in common, it is pc-related.
So yes, I can reproduce it by trying to run the quiz on certain pc's.
Thanks David. When I said users, I meant their PCs :)
Please be sure that they meet the System Requirements specified here.

Indeed, but we took a pc and made sure there was only one user logged in. Same problem.
Hi David! Are you utilizing an LMS? Perhaps this is just an issue with the Resume data.
Do you have it set for:
Prompt to resume
In LMS 'ignore Flash cookie'
No LMS. We don't capture any results. We just offer the link to the story.html.

IE10 caused a lot of issues with Presenter, but not so much in Storyline, although I did see a few users report.
If changing/updating the browser is not an option, I would suggest compatibility view.
