You can add a tab to the top of your player to display the notes if you like. Alternately, the notes will appear in the left pane of your player by default.
There are a couple of other ways to do transcripts / closed captions. The biggest factor would be "what are your hearing impaired users most comfortable with?"
With other programs we just attached a copy they could download or like you said, use the notes field. I wasn't aware you could make the notes available for the viewer.
I do this all the time. Just enter your text in the Notes field of each screen and then in the Player make sure the Notes tab is selected so the text will appear. Works essentially the same as PowerPoint and Presenter.
