Audio Clips in Content Library?

Jul 24, 2017

Hi Storyline users: Considering getting the Articulate 360 upgrade to get the Content Library. Does Content Library offer any audio clips? (wav or mp3 files) If not, I'd like to know what sites are best for downloading audio, specifically ones where we don't need to give a credit/attribution in the finished course (paying is OK - they don't need to be free). Thanks!

Hi Jill,

Content library has templates for use in Storyline/Studio, access to characters (illustrated and photographic) and a ton of images, icons, and videos. We don't have audio files in there yet, but that would be a cool Feature request!

Here's some other general info and FAQs around Content Library.

Hopefully others in the community can share ideas on sites where you can get good audio!

Hi Ashley...just a quick follow-up Q on this...the Articulate 360 Free Trial version. This contains the million-plus images (and tons of video clips) that I can access during the trial? Or just a few of them? I saw input about the Free Trial only having 1 Template and 6 characters available....which is fine. But I need to know what's offered (for images and videos) before installing the Free Trial, because it's a proving ground to check if it's worth upgrading to 360.

Hi Jill,

You should be able to see all the images, icons, templates and characters while authoring in Storyline or some of the previews on the Content Library site.

You will only be able to download and use:

  • Template: Velocity
  • Photographic Characters: Al, Atsumi, Brandon, Laura
  • Illustrated Characters: Andrew, Arthur, Lily, Marilyn

Thank you Ashley. Good info and thanks for replying quickly!

So if I heard you right, if I get the Free Trial of Articulate 360, I will not be able to search through and insert images and videos from its content library while I am within Storyline working on a course (just watched the video from your CTO (link you sent) showing how that works). But, I will be able to see what images and videos are available in it. Sound correct?

Hi Kristen,

Are you looking to add a video and an audio file to the same slide? You should be able to insert both of those onto your slide, and set them to play simultaneously but there isn't a feature to add the audio into the video file. You could always add those two media pieces to a single slide and then use the Publish to Video option to create one MP4.

Let me know if that helps or if you need more guidance!
