Audio Editing in Playback Issues in Storyline 3?

Feb 19, 2018

I've recently upgraded to Storyline 3 and have noticed a few issues with audio. Wondering if these are known/shared issues?

For longer audio clips (approx. 2 minutes), if I try to highlight and edit within the Audio Editor, the waveform does not match up with the actual playback. So, for example, if I highlight a segment of the waveform that corresponds to audio I want to delete and then listen to it first, what I hear is up to a second off of what is selected. Second, on two occasions in two different projects, longer audio is distorted a choppy. It often sounds fine on first playback, and then "corrupts" and cannot be corrected.

Hi Meredith,

For the issue you're seeing with the audio and the waveform, have you zoomed in while editing? That was something we also saw in Storyline 3, and the fix for it (which is already available in Storyline 360) will be in the next update of Storyline 3.

For the distorted audio, are you experiencing this while previewing? Published output? If it's in your published version where have you uploaded to test it? What browser(s) are you using? If you can share a .story file here with us I'm happy to take a look and test this out!

Hey Meredith! I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 3 for Storyline 3! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where the audio and wave form were not synced in the Audio Editor when zoomed in .

Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let me know how you make out!
