Audio folder blank in Storyline

Mar 14, 2014

Hi.

I am a Mac user running VM Ware to use Storyline. I recorded 40+ audio files with Quicktime on my Mac; they are saved as aiff files.

I can't see them in their folder when I click on import audio file, but can import some of them from record from mic>file icon.

I am able to import some but when I try to import to a layer, even this way, I can't.

I get a message (attached) saying they can't be saved into my library because windows doesn't support their format, but they're aiff files.

Please help.

Hi Lisa,

First off, I did want to share a reminder about working on a Mac in the VM environment, you'll want to work solely in the Windows environment. Based on the image you shared, I saw it mentioned a "shared folder" - you'll also want to work with local project files (local within the Windows environment) as working from a shared or network drive could cause erratic behavior.

AIFF is one of the supported audio formats listed here, as Nicholas mentioned you may want to try converting it to another format as not all codecs and bitrates are supported. Directions on how to use Audacity are included in this article on audio issues.

Please let us know how the audio import behaves after checking those out.
