Audio in Master slide Not Working

May 12, 2020

Hello!

I'm experiencing an issue that maybe have been reported before, but I'm really seeking for a solution.

I have a large course, so I decided to add the music to the Slide Master. I put the audio in a layer inside the master and create a variable to check if the user wants to activate the music or not. this variable is been changed by some buttons. If the variable is true then the layer with the sound should be displayed at the beginning of the timeline. This works just fine, also locally and in the preview everything looks to work. But when I export the course to LMS and try it in scormcloud or even when I try a WEB version in a link, the sound just stop working with no reason, is very odd behavior, I have tried many workarounds, some of them included in other forums but nothing seems to work.

the only way I make it work was, putting the audio in every single slide, but again, the problem is that this course is kind of big, so when a i do that the size of the course increase x3 I jump from 35mb to 130 so this is really a big issue for some users that didn't have the best connectivity.

Hope you can help me around!

Thanks

Hey Leslie Thanks so much for your interest and your response, I figure it out following a workaround from my participation in another forum,

here the response I got I anyone else is having the same issue

"In the meantime, there are a few workarounds that I hope will help accomplish what you are looking for:

1. There are some community workarounds that help with applying audio files throughout a course here:
https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/background-audio-cool-trick?page=6

2. There is another workaround from a fellow community member:
https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/background-music-demo?page=2#reply-293514

3. If those first two options don't seem to help, then adding audio files to each slide should do the trick.

From here, I will be reaching out to the team about this issue.I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue! Thank you again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down."
