I have checked this and they are all as they should be but still does not work.
As I said previusly, it does record audio but I have to unplug then replug the microphone after the recording begins in order for the audio to register.
Does this only happen when conducting screen recordings? What about when you try to just record audio (from insert sound -> record microphone)? Is the audio included when you record without the microphone - just using the built in mic of your computer/laptop? If it's only happening with the screen recording, my next suggestion would be to conduct the repair of Storyline detailed here.

I have just tested a record audio and that is working as expected.
I am working from a computer, which does not have a built in microphone as far as I am aware.
I will try your link now.

If the regular audio recording works - definitely go through with the repair.
