I have added an audio file to the base layer. When I open a new layer, I would like the audio on the base timeline to continue playing. For some reason it is pausing on its own. I do not have any triggers to stop or pause the media. I also have not clicked the box to pause the media in the layer properties box. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I find it interesting that when I am in the new layer and click to expand the base layer that the audio file does not show as an object.
Any chance you'd be willing to share your .story file, either right here in the thread or privately, so we can get a better idea of how you've got things configured?
Thanks for the quick reply. I am in the process of retrieving the file from my developer on this project. I tried to re-create the issue in a different file to show you an example, but the functionality worked perfectly in the new file. As soon as I have the file, I will share it.
Are you able to share more information about how you have the base layer and your additional layer set up? Do you have any options enabled that hide other layers, etc.?
If you're able to, please share the .STORY file here. I'd be happy to take a look and see what's happening.
If it was an issue of corruption, hopefully you won't run into that problem again. If you do, however, you could always try importing the slides from the original file into a new Storyline project. That may save you some time and effort in the future, if you ever run into an issue with a file becoming corrupt.

Hi, Todd -
Take a look at the slide layer properties dialog (little gear to the right of the layer title). Is "Pause timeline of base layer" checked?
I'm having the same issue Todd cited, and no, the box to "pause timeline of base layer" is not checked in either of the additional two layers.

The solution to my problem seemed to be a corrupted file. I am not sure what happened or how to avoid it.
Hi Todd,
Thanks for the update.

Here's information on importing from an existing course, just in case you haven't seen it.
Thanks!
