I have added audio to my base layer and a separate audio file on a separate layer. The separate layer is selected by clicking on a hot spot. I have a trigger pause the media on the base layer. After the separate layer is viewed and audio played, the learner clicks an "X" to return to the base layer. I want the audio to resume playing the audio on the base layer. Would you tell me how to set that up please?

On the LAYER PROPERTIES (gear icon in lower right corner when layer is selected), click the option to [x] Pause timeline of base layer.
That should be all you need. When the layer closes the timeline on the base will resume, so audio will continue if there is more.
