Audio on baselayer plays on review slide

Hello there,

We are creating an Articulate Storyline 360 quiz in freeform, text entry and pick one. We have experienced a problem with an audio media file, that is only displayed on the base layer, keeps playing on the review slide together with the audio on the review slide. Someone who can help us to avoid that audio?

Hi Christine! Thanks so much for sharing your file. I had a look, and I definitely saw the audio reply during Quiz Review on slides 1.11 - 1.15. However, I wasn't able to find any reason why that would happen in your file.

I'm going to share this with our Support Engineers to get a closer look. They'll reach out via email as soon as they have more to share!

Hi Sille,

It doesn't look like we heard back from Christine after our Support team investigated her file. In their testing, here is what Renz found and shared:

To fix this I have added a new variable, that I suggest you add per slide as well: https://d.pr/i/JPq5cH 

It is a variable to check whether a visitor has been to this slide before or not. On initial visit to the slide it will be false, but at the start of the timeline this will turn it to "True". 

Now since the audio will always play at the start of the timeline on the main slide, it does not matter if it has resumed state or not, as it will always play at the start of the timeline. 
Since we have added this variable, we can now add it as a conditional statement for the audio to only play if and only if the variable's value is False, and this is the first time visiting the slide 

If the variable is true, and the slide is revisited, the audio will not play. I've also added a 2nd trigger to the Speaker button to stop the main audio from playing so they do not overlap if play together.
