Automatic Triggers after Power Point Import "change to next slide after user clicks or swipes continue"

Jul 19, 2021

Hello everyone,

I imported a Power Point presentation to Articulate Storyline and afterwards Storyline created automatic Triggers which said "change to next (previous) slide when user clicks or swipes continue (back)". As a result the slides changed by themselves automatically to the next one after a few seconds although I created "next" und "back" buttons. So I deleted the automatic triggers and just added the next and back buttons in the slide master (with triggers "change to next (previous) slide when user clicks button next (back)") because I want the user to click on them to get to the next/previous page.

After I deleted the Triggers the view of the scenes in Articulate changed (check screenshots). The next and back buttons do work but after I exported the SCORM to our LMS sometimes the project hangs after clicking the next buttons and users can't continue until they restart it. Did anyone experience the same? Was it maybe wrong to implement the next and back buttons in the slide master instead of creating Triggers for these buttons on every single page?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Annika,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in your project file. We do have this issue reported to our team, and I've attached this conversation to share updates with you here.

In the meantime, you can remove these unlisted triggers:

  1. Use Story View
  2. Hover over the red arrows that appear between slides
  3. Find the timeline start trigger
  4. Right-click and choose disconnect
