Base Layer Still Appears
Sep 22, 2014
Hi Articulate Heros
I'm having a problem with a template I downloaded and am now trying to "customize." Please find the file attached. On slide 1 scene 1 there are 4 layers. Somehow I had accidentally deleted Layer 1 named Option 1 so I recreated it today. When I pulled it in my base layer items showed so I went into properties and hid the base layer objects. I noticed this was not needed for layer 2, 3 or 4.
When you play, if you click button 1 then click buttons 2,3 & 4 the layer Option 1 appears for ALL buttons with the base layer text also appearing. If you skip button 1 and look at 2,3 & 4 they all work correctly. What is wrong with layer 1???
I have tried importing this file into a new articulate document but the problem is still there.

Hi G,
I took a look at your file, and it appears that all the objects on that first layer were set to be shown - and therefore that's the overlapping you were seeing. I'm not sure how it occurred - but if you expand the "carrot" in the timeline next to base layer objects, you'll be able to select the individual text boxes you would like to hide instead of hiding all the base layer elements from the slide properties.
I made an update to your file and have attached it here.
Thank you. I'll try this on my original doc. So how did you fix it so layer 1 didn't keep showing up when the button for the other layers was clicked?
I just tried it and it not only worked but fixed the other issue. Thank you again!!! Amazing something this simple fixed it all. You're my hero
Happy to hear it G - thanks for the update.
