Best story size for a variety of devices? (Storyline 2)

Nov 10, 2017

We've used a story size of 1024 x 768 for a while now, but we want to increase it to make more room for content and to get away from the "square look."

How big can I go without making it too large for smaller screens, such as tablets and smaller laptops? Most of our training is viewed on PCs with large monitors, but we want it to be usable on every device.

We currently use a player(see attachments). Is it possible to completely remove the player to free up more space and to make it look more like a webpage? We've tried changing the color to make it look like it's not there, but it's not exactly what we want.

Thanks!

Whitney

Whitney, remember that tablets like the newer iPads are very high resolution, so you could design a higher resolution project and it would look very good. You can also set your player to fit the screen so that it will look good despite the client device's resolution. Just make sure any buttons you create are large enough for the smallest screen size that you would like to support.

You can eliminate the built-in player and use your own by starting off with the "Chromeless" player. Save the attached file and load it in your player settings to have a look (save your current player or project first).
