our client doesn't want Articulate Storyline to send data/to communicate with LMS every single slide (low internet connection in user's locations). They just want that a course will send info:
1. At the beginning of a course (course started)
2. At the end of a course (course is finished)
3. When a user will close a course somewhere in the middle without finishing it (course unfinished or paused).
I know that there is some solution in Captivate for that. (attaching screen). Does Storyline 360 have features like this? Or maybe we should do it somehow with triggers? I would be grateful for any advice if you have experience or knowledge in this field.
When choosing the tracking/reporting options for your course, you can set up a trigger to communicate with your LMS when a course is completed. This guide provides a great walkthrough of how you can use a trigger to send a completion status to your LMS.
I have done what you recommended and have send it to my client. We will see if that will be enough for them, but I hope yes. Because it seems like this is what they need. Thank you.
our customer tells us that data is still send to LMS on every slide.
Is there a way to turn it off? I thought it will be turned off after changing settings in reporting based on linked article but it seems that it doesn't change it.
We have changed parameter in file LMC/Configuration.js var FORCED_COMMIT_TIME = "0"; so it will not send data every 60 seconds.
Thank you for letting me know! At the moment, I don't believe there is a way in Storyline to disable the LMS commit action. What may help is to enable the LMS Debug Mode to see what is being communicated to the LMS. I am hoping that others in the community can share what they have done here as well!
