Brand New to Java

Hello talented community!

I'm brand new to the process of loading a course to an LMS (so is my client).  The client does not have an actual LMS (it's more like a portal), but needs to track course completion.    The client has asked me to send them a version of the file where the final “Click here to exit” button has this javascript: submitComplete();

Will someone please talk me through how to add this javascript?  Also, should I publish for LMS or web?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
