Button accessibility glitch

Mar 16, 2018

Hello everyone,

I am testing an activity (published with Storyline 360) with the NVDA and Jaws screen readers and everything is mostly working as expected. I am, however, running into a problem with buttons.

Here's the published activity

Every button I've inserted seems to have an empty "state" attached to it, which results in the selected yellow button box being visible on the slide that follows it. The only button this doesn't happen with is the START button on the title slide. Every other button that proceeds the title slide has this empty border that appears on the subsequent page.

In addition, alt text for buttons isn't being read out.

I've attached my .story file, and will look forward to your comments.

Thank you,

Agnieszka

Update on the buttons' alt text tags.

comment shared in a different post made me realize that I needed to update alt text tags of the buttons' normal and hover states (.story file attached). This update solved the second issue, where the screen readers were not reading tags I assigned to the button.

First issue is still unsolved. Will look forward to the community's comments.
