Button only working on my computer, no one elses

Feb 12, 2016

I have an eLearning that I have been working on that has a menu slide where the learner picks from 5 buttons, each of which bring you to a different slide, and then you are re-routed back to the menu slide. There is one of the buttons that for some reason will not work for anyone else that tries it on their computer, but it always works when I try it on the published file on my computer. We are all accessing the same file, but it only works on my computer. Everything looks solid in the logic and I am befuddled as to what is going on here. Has anyone ever run into an issue like this before?

Hi, Jason -- Thanks so much for reaching out here! First, here is our System Requirements sheet to ensure that everyone is viewing content in a supported way. Also, can you share a bit more about the environment in which the published output is being viewed? Here are our recommendations for Publishing and Sharing SL2 Content

You are also welcome to upload your file if you'd like us to do some testing on our end, as well.

Hi, Jason!

Many thanks for your reply, and it would be great if we could check out your file itself, if possible. Options to share include: uploading it here in the thread so others in the community can chime in to assist. All you'd need to do is click on the grey ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box and upload from there.

You may also send your file for private offline review by myself or one of the other moderators here in the community by using this form.

UPDATE on Jason's case for anyone who may be following along here. After I was able to check out his file, I did not experience any odd behavior when testing his published output on tempshare.articulate.com. Looks like all that was needed was to run through the output in the intended environment as described here:

"If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail."

Hope that helps others! :)
