I'm trying to set up a Find the Hidden Objects type of interaction, where things are hidden throughout the course. Each time they find one, I want it to update on the intro slide.
Maybe I need to use variables?
My idea is to show all the hidden objects on the Intro slide and write "Not Yet Found' next to each one. When the user clicks on one of the objects, hidden on other slides, I would like the text to update to say 'Found.'
You need touse a variable to store the data andthenuse a triggers the second slide witha condition based on the variable vavalue the trigger should be set on timeline starts on the slide.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to make this work. Maybe you can help me figure out where I'm going wrong.
On the object on the second slide, I added a number variable with a value of 0. Then I added a trigger to change the value to 1 when the user clicks the object.
Then, on the first slide I added a trigger that changes the state of a text box that says "Not yet found' to show a green check mark when the variable value changes to 1.
However, nothing changes on the first slide when I click on the object with the trigger on the second slide.
Thank you so much! You understood exactly what I was trying to do. When I followed the steps in your screenr, I realized my mistake was that I didn't set it to 'when timeline starts.'
I saw that Phil told me that, too. I just didn't know where to set it correctly.
I really appreciate your taking the time to show me how to do this.
I'm going to Wow my colleagues at our next Design Team meeting.

Thanks, Phil,
I knew there had to be some variable trick. This is perfect.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jill,
Made you a screenr to show you how this works: https://player.vimeo.com/video/204932613
I've also attached the source file.
Hope it helps!
