Can mp4 videos of Storyline screens be converted back to the individual elements?

Oct 17, 2023

This is probably something that is not possible, but we worked with a company that turned all our screens into MP4 files and then reuploaded them to the course.

In the meantime, they've breached contract and stopped all communication, so I'm the only one working on our courses. The only problem is, I can't even edit spelling mistakes because they uploaded each screen in MP4 files.

So as a last effort before having to re-do the entire course in the future to make edits, does anybody know of a possible way to convert MP4 files back into Storyline elements?

Recreating the course from scratch would probably be the fastest option. Outside of recreating, you could extract the individual frames from videos, sort out the unique ones from the thousands of frame graphics that would be generated, and drop them into SL. You'd then be able to update/correct/edit the individual graphics. This video approach would probably take 3-4 times longer than recreating from scratch

Curious as I believe I'm searching for the same, you cannot just upload a video already screen recorded showing e.g. how ot make a gmail, and use that.

I got an error saying it is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened, it may be an older version but reality is that it simply cannot be done and remaking it is probably the best bet?

Just find it interesting you can drop a Powerpoint in there and use interact but an video it cannot? Thanks in advance!
