Can some slides "Play Through" in Try Mode?

Jun 16, 2014

Hi, again~

Thanks for your previous help.  My client has asked that some slides in Try Mode simply play through without the user having to click -- for instance, when there is a drop down, clicking the drop down is one click and making the selection is another.  He would like the second click to simply play through.

I had assumed that if I deleted the hot spot, the slide would play through but that doesn't seem to be happening. I've set the trigger to advance to the next slide when media completes and I've also tried setting the trigger to advance when the timeline ends (which is about 2 seconds).  In Preview, it still hangs up on this slide rather than playing through.

Before going further, is this even possible?

I thought of inserting a slide from View Mode, but the client also doesn't want the clicking cursor. Adding a custom cursor means that it enters from an outside direction -- kind of funky.  Is there a better solution that I'm not seeing?

Thank you!

Susan

Hi Susan,

This should work to be able to set the slides to automatically advance - you'll want to set it as a trigger and also set the slide's individual properties to advance automatically instead of by user. Since you don't want the user to see anything else on that slide you should also remove the layers that were generated. I just tested this set up in a test file - and it all worked as expected. Since you don't "see" anything happening, I left the menu on so that I could see it was advancing to the next slide.

If you're still having difficulty it may be helpful if you can share that set of slides/scene from your .story file here with us so that we can take a look.
