when selected it publishes full LMS version with the settings I have for this file. I tried to install the latest update - that froze, then failed - the app still works showing I have version 3 not 4 as current. Any suggestions besides uninstall/reinstall. Thanks Cynthia
Are you trying to publish, or LMS? If you are having issues publishing to Word, you may want to look at the information here. You could also try running a repair of the software as noted here. Also, I want to confirm you are working locally with your files and not publishing to a shared network drive.
Cynthia: Deleting your current version off your machine, and re-installing may actually be the quickest way to get rid of the quirkiness. That's what I do when I get weird behavior. Only takes 10-15 mins or so.
Thanks to you both, normally I also uninstall and start again (have not had to do that on my new laptop prior) - I was trying to publish to Word (I use to quickly build my final script for the voice over.) Anyway... could not uninstall - trying to uninstall actually set for installation dialog box, then it actually disappear from the list through the control panel - fun times - but I found an entry for the latest update in that list - once I deleted that - I was back to the ver 3 update (according to the help menu info) and everything is working... so I will hold off until ver 5 update before I attempt this again. As a side note. I had NO issue with updating to ver 4 patch on my desktop which is still running Win 8/Office 2010 (activated so I could get script to client for final approval) - only issue on my laptop Win 8.1/Office 2013. Hmmmmm... or maybe the planets are out of alignment. :)
I know you are on 4 - and I could not get 4 to load on my Win 8.1 os computer - my comment was that I am NOT going to try and install that patch again and going to wait for the next one as I have to work. It was not the file - it was the patch failing multiple times on installation. I moved over to my Desktop running Win 8, no issue with the patch - finished that task and then fixed the laptop with the steps I mentioned. it is probably an issue with your patch and whatever iteration of 8.1 with updates I am on. No worries - Your programmer's can't control Microsoft's constant update tweaks. enjoy your day.

Hello Cynthia,
We are currently on Update 4, not 5. If you need to share the file with us to test, you can attach it here directly.
