Can't see the check mark!
Oct 28, 2015
Hi Everyone,
I am creating a menu with check boxes to be selected. I want to jump to a particular slide/scene when a check box is selected and I know how to do this. Not a problem.
My problem is to show the actual tick mark on the check box otherwise the user may not be able to see the black tick mark. How can I display the check mark?
See the informaton attached if that helps.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks.
Chris

I'm probably missing something, but based on your attachment, the checkbox's built-in Selected state should be called automatically when the checkbox is clicked.
Thanks Michael but what do I need to do to show the checkmark.
Can you share your .story file here so that we can take a closer look?
HI Michael, please see attached a sanitized file of the project I am working on.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks.
Chris
Try setting your slide and layer properties to Resume Saved State.
Did that and didnt work. Still do not see the check mark displayed when the user clicks on the check box.

See attached a file that (I think) behaves like you want.
Thanks Michael but the check mark appears when I go back to the page again and does not appear when I click on the check box.
When I click on the check box, the slide jumps to another scene (which I know) but I want to be able to show the tick mark in the check box before the jump to the new scene happens.
Are you saying you want to DELAY the jumpToSlide so that the checkbox is initially visible? If yes, then see attached one option to delay the jump using an offstage object with a motion path animation. The length of the animation determines the delay.
Yes this works! Thanks Michael!
Good to hear that this option works for you. Instead of an offstage object to create the delay you could also use a blank layer with a short timeline that, when its timeline ends, jumps to slide xyz.
